Unlocked Samsung T749
Highlight. The Highlight takes a few design liberties that reflect its
entry-level image. It's a bit rounder and sleeker than many of its Samsung
touch-screen brethren and it shows a pattern on its rear cover. At 4.27 inches tall by 2.11 inches wide by 0.54 inch thick,
the Highlight a bit chunkier than some of its counterparts, but we welcome the
extra girth. Indeed, it has a comfortable feel in the hand, and it fits easily
in a pocket or bag. The display measures 3 inches, which is just on the edge of
what we consider acceptable for a touch screen. However, for what it lacks in
size, it makes up in resolution. The display shows 16 million colors (400x240 pixels), which results in bright colors,
sharp photos, and vibrant graphics.
The Samsung SGH-T749 Highlight from T-Mobile looks like just
another touchscreen phone, at first glance. The pocket-friendly feature phone measures in at 109mm x 53mm x 13mm (4.3in x 2.1in x 0.5in), but weighs a slightly
hefty 105g (3.7oz). Combined with its curvaceous design, the Highlight feels
surprisingly good in your hand, and slips easily into your pocket when you're
not using it. The phone is built well, and feels as though you could beat it up
a bit without concern. The Highlight is available in a 'Fire' color scheme,
with bright orange and red colors, or 'Ice', with more subdued dark grey and
teal colors.
The Samsung SGH-T749 Highlight is a touchscreen cell phone for T-Mobile that uses Samsung's TouchWiz user interface to offer extra
customization options to users. The phone also packs in a 3.2 megapixel camera and support for T-Mobile's budding 3G network,
with super-fast data speeds. We put this touchscreen phone through its paces to
see how well it measures up.The modest 3-inch
WQVGA (240 x 400 pixel) resolution touchscreen display takes up most of the
front of the device and is extremely bright and easy to read. Below the display
are three buttons - send, back, and end/power, from left to right.
