Samsung has long been at the forefront of the camera phone
market with it boasting the UK 's
first 8-megapixel model, the i8510
(Innov8), among its accolades. Sadly that milestone didn't mark the end of the
megapixel race, though, so today I'm looking at a 12-megapixel model, the Samsung M8910 Pixon 12. Thankfully, there
is more to this phone than just a pixel bump so let's take a look.First and
foremost, this is possibly the most camera-like camera phone we've ever seen in
terms of ergonomics. This is mostly due to the proper textured hand grip that
makes this by far the easiest phone to hold and use as a camera - assuming
you're right handed that is.
Now I want everyone aware that 12 megapixels here or there,
just not on a cell phone camera can be a mid-range, can be bought for 30-40
thousand HUF from any digital camera's performance. From this we wrote in great
detail in several places, I would recommend this article to a comprehensive
view. However, this does not mean that the camera does not make sense at all:
very useful for capturing various situations where image quality is not so, but
rather the issue is important. But 12 megapixels - and also massively
kardoskodunk - we think that is completely unnecessary, it is a well-built 3-megapixel lens is more than enough
for the purpose for which the mobile phone is in camera at all.
Fittingly enough, the design remains true to the original –
except that it's a tiny bit slimmer
(2.09” wide). At the same time, you can see some of the design elements
used to make this phone imitate the standard point and shoot digital camera. The jet black plastic
used for the front mixes well with the chrome border going around the phone.
When you flip it over, the milled aluminum back cover and faux leather lip
exemplifies its guise. We're glad to see that the Samsung Pixon12 M8910 is lighter (4.04 oz) than its predecessor (4.27 oz) and at the same
time gives it a balanced weight. The quality of the materials used and overall
construction is top notch – we suspect a lot of time and love went into
designing this beauty.
